The Leo Club Foggia "Umberto Giordano" is a youth philanthropic association that is part of the broader international network of Leo Clubs, the youth program of the International Association of Lions Clubs. The acronym L.E.O. (Leadership, Experience, Opportunity) represents the pillars on which the association is based, offering young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain experience in volunteering.

I joined the Leo Club Foggia "Umberto Giordano" in 2020, taking on the role of Social Media Manager and Graphic Designer. Since then, I have put my professionalism at the service of the association, contributing to promoting our activities and strengthening our online presence. We have organized fundraising events, distributed medicines, and provided medical equipment to hospitals and clinics.

I proudly took on the coordination of "Donate Your Braid, Give a Smile" a project that has had a significant impact on the community and continues to grow.

The idea was born from the desire to support cancer patients who lose their hair due to treatment. I reached out to hairdressers in my hometown, Foggia, to collect real hair braids, which were then donated to the association "Una Stanza per un Sorriso". This organization transforms the donations into high-quality wigs, offering patients a smile and a sense of normality as they face such a difficult battle.

In 2024, the project expanded nationwide, reaching beyond Foggia and involving hairdressers and donors from across Italy. This success led to an invitation to present our work at the Italian Chamber of Deputies, a moment of great pride for me and the entire team. Bringing our initiative to such a prestigious setting was a powerful recognition of our work and its ability to inspire others. Coordinating this service has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Each donated braid is a gesture of solidarity and love, and knowing that I have helped build something so meaningful motivates me to continue with even greater enthusiasm.

I still actively manage this initiative, working to keep it alive and expand its reach even further. Our goal is to connect with more people, both as donors and beneficiaries, and continue to bring a smile to those who need it most. This project has taught me that even a seemingly simple idea can grow into something extraordinary, and that commitment and passion can truly make a difference in people’s lives.

In 2023, I had the honor of joining the Lions Club Foggia Umberto Giordano, an experience that has enriched my life both personally and professionally. I was appointed to the Communication and Marketing Committee, a role that allowed me to actively contribute to promoting the club’s activities and enhancing its external visibility.

Lions Clubs International is a global service organization, founded in 1917, with over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries. The mission of the Lions is to serve local and global communities, promoting charitable, cultural and solidarity initiatives.

In my role, I launched several communication initiatives to strengthen the club’s image and engage new people in our activities. Among these: I curated the club’s online presence, sharing news, events and the results of our initiatives to reach a broader audience. I also developed promotional materials such as flyers, videos and articles, to share the club’s success stories and inspire others to join us.

Thanks to these efforts, the club has seen an increase in participation in our charitable and cultural initiatives. We have reached new people who have enthusiastically joined us, contributing to strengthening our mission.

This experience has been deeply rewarding, and I am proud to be part of an organization that makes such a positive impact on the world.

At the end of the 2024 club year, the Lions Club Foggia Umberto Giordano set up a spectacular event that brought together the city’s fashion boutiques in a grand fashion show. This initiative was not only aimed at promoting local businesses and the city itself but also at raising funds for charitable causes. The event was a resounding success, attracting a large audience and generating thousands of euros in donations. These funds were allocated to various charity projects, furthering the club’s mission to serve the community and make a positive impact.

I played a pivotal role in the event’s success by overseeing all aspects of promotion, communication, graphic design, and video production. Every piece of graphic material, from posters and flyers to social media content, was meticulously crafted by me. Additionally, I created engaging promotional videos that highlighted the event’s purpose and showcased the participating boutiques. My efforts ensured that the event received widespread visibility and participation, contributing to its overall success and the significant funds raised for charity. This experience not only honed my skills in communication and design but also reinforced my commitment to using creativity for meaningful causes.

For the 2025/26 club year, I will have the honor of serving as President of the Information Technology Committee of the Lions Club Foggia Umberto Giordano. In addition to continuing my work in communication, I will focus specifically on the renewal and management of the club’s website. My goal will be to modernize the platform, making it more intuitive, accessible, and aligned with current needs. This includes updating content, optimizing the user experience, and integrating tools that facilitate participation and interaction among members and the public.

The website will become a strategic tool to promote the club’s activities, engage new members, and enhance the visibility of our charitable and cultural initiatives. It will also serve as a central hub for sharing information, events, and results, fostering a sense of community and transparency.

This role will allow me to combine my technical and creative skills to add value to the club, supporting its mission of service and solidarity. I am excited to take on this new challenge and contribute to the club’s growth and impact in meaningful ways.
