In 2020/21, as a member of the Leo Club (a philanthropic youth association for individuals under 30) I conceived, with the support of the entire club, a virtual charity concert to raise funds for organizations supporting people with disabilities.

Artists from all over the world generously contributed their talent free of charge, and we successfully raised €600.

I personally oversaw the entire organization, coordinating the work of all volunteers in selecting and reaching out to artists, managing the press office and handling the brand image.

This experience allowed me to develop essential skills in event planning, team coordination, public relations and digital communication. It was a deeply rewarding achievement that helped me escape the isolation of the pandemic and lockdown back then.

WHAT HAPPENED BACKSTAGE

The initial plan was to stream the event live on Facebook, allowing viewers to donate directly through Meta's platform. However, unexpected technical issues forced us to change course: the system detected an artist’s beat as copyrighted content, blocking the live stream and automatically refunding the donations received.

In an instant, the team reacted: we restarted the broadcast on Facebook, adjusting the setlist to avoid further copyright issues. Meanwhile, we quickly notified the audience through mailing lists and social media, ensuring that viewers could reconnect. Within 20 minutes, the event was back on track.

The following day, the Youtube première attracted even more viewers, generating additional donations and extending the impact of the fundraiser. A truly intense and highly formative experience that highlighted the importance of flexibility and problem-solving in managing live digital events.
