Join this punk/trash/drag party! - LU LA LOOP

Our most loyal readers know who we are talking about, for all the others, we suggest you to read HERE the previous interview done with Lucy, the head of LU LA LOOP because this is not just a fashion brand but it is also, above all, an idea, a real world to be discovered and to be inspired by. Anyone following us on instagram will have noticed it and, in any case, we cannot hide it. We at SWM love everything about LU LA LOOP. This is exactly what we can call a hymn to freedom and creativity!

Tell me about your latest project, what is it about?

I have just completed a Tiny collection of Punk-Trash-Drag-Optimism...haha.

Tartan - Plaids, Animal patterns clashing and thrashing with mixed vulgar colours, cosy, kawaii punk trash elements; normal LU LA LOOP haha.

This particular mini collection will be sold in Coexist Berlin, some pieces - our new-ish REWORKED, One-off line...THRASH TRASH by LU LA LOOP with NO PIECE THE SAME! .

The SLAY leopard /Tiger Sweaters will be available firstly in Coexist and then in my little shop and atelier (I share with partner in sweeeeeeeeet creative crime - Margot of brand IAMKILOGRAM) coming soon to my new updated website in the new year too!

My GIANT "LIFE IS ODD" sweater is sold exclusively by private order and in DIE KRAFT. This piece inspired by Yvie Oddly and Baby Lame, two incredible Drag talents with a Punk, horror- grime and slime vibrancy! And two artists I am so incredibly lucky and humbled to have and be working with right now.

Where does the Inspiration come from?

The Inspiration comes from many many places!!!

At the moment, it is a continuation of Drag Slang, Upbeat and optimistic vibes, 80's and 90's aesthetics, DIY culture , Trashy and youthful vibes.

Punk energy too! I am really into PINK and black too. I think my work with AJA, where we often concept costume ideas for her performance using lots of Pink, It has just got stuck! WE Love it. Especially when it's all trashy, vile fun shades and material mixing.

And really love anything pink, shiny or tactile with Black, Glitter and punking it up.. Like this HALLO KWEEN Jacket..So trashy and with a real hand worked, DIY energy...Like something you would have found in the 80's Vintage stores in NY or London! I love this vibrancy and the imperfections from that vibe!

How does the place you live in effect your style?

I am not entirely sure?? I think, now living in Berlin, maybe I want to wear more colour sometimes, to go against the Normal BERGHAIN BLACK..ahahaha...

I do not know. I feel in my own bubble and can wear really Childlike and fun clothing, to really Goth-Punk vibes...I change all the time. I always have and always will. And then I guess with my brand, I sort of ignore what the trends are. I do what I like and I always keep this element of Trash, Rebel, Club-kid, Optimistic energy and Funnnnnnnnn :)

Having DIE KRAFT also helps to create our own fantasy, bubble. Start the day with really good 80's trashy music, often on the stereo, Really lo-fi 80's videos too...surrounded by Clashing colours, patterns and good energy...It transfers into the work..I hope and think?!

A music video and musician I really adore for artistry and totally for her unique and creative, pure self--- Often playing in the studio at the moment: CYNDI LAUPER

Also good vibes always from this show on NTS radio :) This vibe goes super good with the shop + Studio.

Put good fun music on and it all goes into the Trashy fabric fun, in the end :) haha

How do you improve your creative thinking?

I try to get up and a few times a week do Yoga or exercise to get my brain right!

Also by trying to be quite free, to let my brain take in many ideas and to not be too strict. To really live day to day (THIS IS HARD...YES) I struggle like many artists and creatives, thinking I am not good enough or that I can not do something right...So I am really trying to get the good vibes coming in by this day to day idea, having nice music on in the morning, being in DIE KRAFT with Margot, makes me feel great!

Also my husband, he loves all my creative edges...I am lucky!

We get together and make noisy, funny music with our fun synths and drum machines at home, again with no fixed plan to really just have fun, experiment...maybe not to be afraid to make mistakes; this applied to Life, to everything!!! TO BE OPEN AND FULL OF WONDERMENT!!!
