Decadensity – GoNAT’s

Welcome to a journey into Hong Kong’s vibes and its decadensity!

“I started label GoNAT’s in the year 2016 as little step towards the goal I have had since I was 8. I always knew that  I became a designer and based on that believe I have got involved in that at very early age. That was a revival. Passing through Art school, then gaining a Master Degree in Fashion design I found myself in Hong Kong in mid of 2009. Started a professional journey as an Art educator for fashion course I managed to squeeze myself into Hong Kong fashion industry where I experienced all possible stages in fashion design career and finally got to the point where I felt confident enough to start to express myself through textiles that transformed into shape and color palette.”

What’s the concept of your latest collection?

Collection Decadensity was inspired by fading opulence in Hong Kong modern environment and Hong Kong itself with its color palette. The origin of the word “Decadensity” has two meanings: “Decadence” and “Density” and it reflects a contemporary environment of Hong Kong.

What inspires you the most?

I mostly inspired by Culture and art in any possible way: Cinema, Painting, Photography, Music, Dance.

How does the place you live in affect your design?

It is a difficult question with a complicated answer. Artistic people are much more sensitive to any changes, which are sometimes invisible at a glance. It shakes their previous experience and gives a new ingredient to their creativity. I believe I am affected mostly by the culture I am living now, by the crowd, by the way, people are dressing, what they like what they don’t. Besides, no matter how artistically talented you are ( unless if someone could sponsor you to do whatever you want) designer need to transfer his vision into a business idea, and without customers who are willing to pay it is impossible.

What’s the future of fashion according to you?

Everything is moving towards technology. Sustainability. Fashion is slowing down now comparing to mid of nullifies.  But I believe no matter how the future will affect fashion design there always be a high demand for crafted pieces.

What’s your next project?

For my next collection inspiration comes from neon, the magic of MTV in late 80s early 90s. It will be presented on a runway and website very soon, SO stay tuned.
